Our Mission
The Fountain Hills Friends of the Library is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that works to support the Fountain Hills Library.
We sponsor programs such as the Winter and Summer Reading Programs, Author Events, Performances Workshops, Book Clubs, and Teen Events.
Our team comprises more than 250 members, volunteers, and a Managing Board of Directors.
Our Bookstore Volunteers are a hardworking crew who gratefully receive your book donations, sort and catalog them, and offer them for sale in our Resale Book Shop. Your Membership, donations of books, and our volunteers' hard work provide funding for community events and programs
Fountain Hills Friends of the Library is committed to education. We offer two scholarships to high school graduates in our community to further their post-secondary education. The Falcon Scholarship is offered through the Golden Eagle Education Foundation’s Scholarship Program. New this year is an additional scholarship - the Opportunities Scholarship. Both are for $3,000 per year, renewable for four years with the applicant required to reapply. The main difference is that the Falcon Scholarship is for 2024 graduates of FHHS.
The Opportunities Scholarship is open to any 2024 graduating senior who lives in Fountain Hills, Rio Verde or the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation regardless of the high school attended.

"A book
is a dream you hold in your hands"
Neil Gaiman
The Fountain Hills Friends of the Library operates independently of the Library itself, functioning as a non-profit dedicated to enriching the library experience beyond the constraints of the Maricopa County Library Budget. We fund additional library programs and activities, while also sponsoring free events within the Fountain Hills community.
Our financial support comes from supporting memberships, generous donations, and our thriving Resale Book Shop located in the library lobby.
