The role of the Resale Book Shop manager is dynamic and adapts to the ongoing needs of the bookstore. There are no predetermined working hours; instead, the manager’s contributions fluctuate weekly depending on the demands of the operation. Duties Include the following:
· Collect funds from the Honor Box. This process includes picking up the money, counting it, filling out a deposit envelope, and then securely dropping it into the safe.
· Maintain open communication with bookstore volunteers. The manager is available to volunteers through text, phone, email, or in person, providing guidance and support as needed. Volunteers are regarded as the heart of the bookstore.
· Oversee the restocking of essential bookstore supplies, such as price stickers, Clorox wipes, and post-it notes ensuring that the bookstore remains well-equipped for daily operations. These items are considered reimbursed expenses.
· Collaborate with volunteers to organize and refresh book displays on the lobby tables.
· Assist in scheduling meeting times for handling large donations.
· Coordinate with organizations like VNSA or other groups responsible for picking up recycled books.
· Help with pricing special books that require extra attention due to their unique value or characteristics.
